Welcome to
"The Garden Pathway".
The images on this web site reflect my personal approach in revealing nature's detail with meditative images.
In particular Japanese Haiku has influenced my approach to taking pictures. Haiku poetry reveals a wider universal world through the revelation of solitary detail.
The digital photographs were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 990.
I use MGI
Photosuite software and an Epson Photo 870 photo printer for editing and printing. The majority of the pictures were composed with very little cropping. I use the full LCD screen of my camera to compose the image.
The majority of the picutres were taken near my home in San Francisco in my miraloma neighborhood, the Strybring Arboretum in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park or local bay area parks.
The home page name comes from the japanese concept of the garden pathway ( Rôji ) leading to the Tea Room for cha-no-yu (Japanese tea ceremony).
The garden pathway provides an uplifting peaceful transition from the distractions and din of the outside world to the sanctuary of nature and the inner world.
All photographs are copy righted.
